Janet Jackson

Strategic Partnership Manager – Young People

Janet took up the role of Strategic Partnership Manager – Young People with the Lancashire Skills and Employment Hub in August 2016.  In this role, Janet focuses on learning provision for young people who are not engaged in education, employment or training and on a range of support for those at risk of becoming disengaged, currently focussing on ESF funded projects.

This work  includes bringing together the projects and partners involved as chair of the Lancashire Youth Steering Group and undertaking research into the needs of young people in Lancashire and how education and training provision can meet those needs, in order to inform future commissioning of discretionary funded activities.

Janet has worked in education and training for over 20 years, as Head of Service 14-19 at Blackburn with Darwen Council, Partnership Director for Trafford for the Learning and Skills Council and commissioning and contract managing learning for young people and adults for the Learning and Skills Council in Lancashire and the training and enterprise council, LAWTEC.

Key to Janet’s work is a passion to help young people make their path towards economic independence and to identify and achieve their own goals.
