Joanna O’Donnell
Project Manager - Skills Bootcamps
Joanna joined the Team in June 2022 and oversees the Skills Bootcamp provision, a project that is funded by the Department for Education to offer free support through to employment, through Bootcamp style training and employment coaching and mentoring to residents over the age of 19 from Lancashire, leading to a guaranteed interview with local businesses. Skills Bootcamps are run by providers who are specialists in the field of identified growth areas for Lancashire such as the digital arena, electronics and energy and low carbon industries and therefore work across many themes of the Lancashire Skills and Employment Strategic Framework.
Prior to this role, she worked in Education for 22 years in prisons throughout Lancashire initially as a tutor of Functional Skills resulting in leading the Education Departments she worked in as Education Manager. The Prison education offer included a range of English, Maths, ICT, employability and Vocational Courses to males over the age of 21 up to level 2.
Prior to working in Education, Joanna was a student nurse, barperson and scuba diving shop manager.
In her spare time she enjoys camping, and spending time with her family and pug – Amos
