Free training for independent retailers and businesses in Lancashire.
November 12, 2020
This current lockdown situation has exacerbated the need for independent retailers to be visible and discoverable online to drive online sales, particularly as we approach Christmas. It has highlighted the support needed to develop e-commerce systems for our local businesses.
In response to this we have worked with Clockwork City, a trusted partner of the Lancashire Digital Skills Partnership, to put on a training programme, funded by Lancashire County Council, to develop the digital skills of local businesses so they are more confident in using digital tools to promote their businesses and conduct sales online. Clockwork City have previously run this training in Lancashire for four cohorts across the County including businesses in Skelmersdale, Lancaster and Central Lancashire. Feedback from the training has always been positive and well received.
The training is designed to:
- Increase online discoverability and visibility of a business
- Support business owners and their teams to be effective at social media promotion and understand social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram
- Explore how to run a ‘click and collect’ service and e-commerce platforms.
All with the aim of increasing the profitability of the business.
Testimonials from previous participants include:
Annie Hibberd, Down to Earth – As a result of the training we have seen more people come into our shop and make more online purchases. I now write more confident posts on more platforms about more than just products. The training spread out over four half days is a good balance with the right level of instruction, not too techy, in a supportive atmosphere and answered any “Dim” questions.
Julia Banks-Lyons, Banks Lyons Shoes – The training was brilliant very informative and relevant to my business. Delivered with so much positivity and enthusiasm. Extremely engaging. Highly recommend.
Emma Gray, Room 12 – Most useful part of training was learning about Google listings and how to claim ours. I would love the course to be longer so I could learn more fantastic things! As a result of the course we have seen more people commenting on our online presence.
We have 30 places available on the training and they will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Don’t delay contact Xav via email – Xav@clockworkcity.co.uk – or phone: 07920 884231 to book on.
