Skills Escalator

Our model to support people to develop skills for success in employment

The Lancashire Skills Escalator shows the steps on the route to sustainable employment for people living or working in the Lancashire area and links together employability projects, Government initiatives and mainstream funded opportunities which support people along the route, wherever their starting point.

We work with providers involved in the delivery of projects to develop effective referral processes, so that people can move from project to project to enhance their employability skills, secure sustainable employment and progress within the workforce. The Lancashire Adult Skills Forum brings together partners to support referral processes, share good practice and co-ordinate activity.

The diagram on this page provides a picture of the Lancashire Skills Escalator to demonstrate how people can move from one step of the escalator to the next. Showcasing how their journey can support them to gain skills and sustainable employment.

To support referrals onto the Lancashire Skills Escalator we have developed Escalate.

Escalate, an interactive on line tool detailing funded provision. Referral agencies can signpost Lancashire residents to the best support for them, based on their personal circumstances, distance from the labour market and geographical location. To get started click here and complete the form.
