Lancashire Tourism and Hospitality Skills and Employment Forum, Monday 2nd October 2017, 9.30am – 12.00 noon
August 30, 2017
Lancashire welcomes over 67 million visitors to our wonderfully diverse county each year and in turn, this generates £4.1bn of visitor spending and supports 1 in 10 or over 59,000 local jobs in tourism and hospitality. To continue to grow tourism we need to ensure that we recruit, retain and attract the best talent for the industry.
This workforce plays a vital role in delivering memorable visitor experiences and in providing the warm welcome that attracts both new and repeat visitors, encouraging them to return again and again. We have the ambition to help tourism businesses grow and to generate a further 5,000 new tourism and hospitality jobs by 2020, it is an ambition that is set out within Lancashire’s Visitor Economy Strategy. Marketing Lancashire are working with the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership’s Skills & Employment Hub to look at how we can help tourism businesses across the county attract, inspire and develop their people.
To help us achieve this, we need to hear your views and would like to invite you to join us at this event for tourism and hospitality businesses on Monday 2nd October 2017, from 09.30 – 12.00 at Brockholes Conference Centre, located next to Junction 31 of the M6, just outside of Preston.
